A contract template or a professional review?

A template helps you prepare your own first draft. A review is more useful when someone else has supplied the document, or your deal differs from the assumptions behind a template.

By Founderly · Updated . We offer contract services and include our own service in these guides. This is a comparison of published offers, not an independent service test.

Our scoped offer

Founderly publishes four per-contract options. We confirm which one fits your document, the deliverables and the tax treatment in the quote before work begins.

Simple review CHF 250
Simple review, up to three pages. Confirm the document fits this scope.
Standard review CHF 500
Standard review, three to twenty-five pages, with redlines, one internal revision and a negotiation guide.
Negotiation CHF 1'000
Negotiation support. Agree the document, counterpart contact and completion point before starting.
Custom drafting CHF 2'000
Custom drafting. Smaller drafting projects can receive a separate scoped offer.

The three-page boundary and complex documents are confirmed during scoping. See the current packages and inclusions.

What a template leaves with you

You choose the document, enter the right facts and decide whether the defaults fit the relationship. Check that the parties, services, payment mechanism and intended use match your transaction. A Swiss label alone does not settle those questions.

Read optional clauses instead of treating them as decoration. For example, Concorda's templates use an arbitration mechanism. Whether that is suitable is a decision for the parties, not something to accept because it came prefilled.

When an individual review earns its place

A counterparty's agreement has already allocated responsibilities. Replacing names in your preferred template does not resolve their proposed liability, IP, renewal or termination terms. A useful review connects those clauses to your commercial priorities and identifies changes to request.

You can combine both routes: prepare a starting document yourself, then commission a check of the parts that matter. Tell the reviewer what you changed and which schedules the other party will receive.

A practical example

Your first pilot customer

For a short pilot on your own terms, a suitable starting document may save preparation time. If the customer sends its own procurement agreement with security schedules and a broad IP transfer, the task changes. Ask for a review of that complete bundle rather than buying another generic template.

Ask before you choose

  1. Am I preparing our terms or reacting to someone else's?
  2. Which assumptions in this template do not match the deal?
  3. Who will turn identified risks into wording the other party can use?
